Reminants of Girls Night Out

"Maeve are you a natural pink?"

She is quite pleased with herself.

She's ready for the Kentucky Derby or the next royal wedding.

Minocqua 2013

We were so lucky to be able to go up north to Minocqua the first week of August. We had a great time, unfortunately we had to leave early due to Michael's work schedule. Hopefully next year we'll get to stay the full time. It broke my heart to take the kids away from such a magical experience.

First boat ride was a success according to Maeve

And for Iggy too

No surprise the dare devil darted straight to the front of the boat

So cute!

Captain Bea, it suits her quite well.

Momma and Iggy got a tube ride in. Not sure how he felt about it, he just kept complaining about his eyes.

We went to see the Min-Aqua Bats, Maeve was out cold. I guess she just didn't have much interest.

Igg was all eyes and ears

Looking for fish

Torturing duckies

Might be my favorite picture of them to date.

What a look!

Ignatius doesn't understand what "don't smother your sister" means

Like Momma, Maeve couldn't get enough of the fried cheese curds from The Thirsty Whale. Oh to have them right here, right now.

They all look a little skeptical as to how this is going to work out.

We had some rainy days and some cloudy days. Unfortunately it took until our last day for Maeve to slip into her swimsuit.

Until next year Northwoods

Ten Months

Maeve hit some major milestones during her 10th month. She has been babbling more, finally I hear Momma, but I still question if she's trying to say more instead. Oh and don't worry she has been saying Dada for over two months now, typical! Maeve's movements have shifted to lots of squats up and down, up and down, she has even taken some baby steps, and by that I truly mean baby steps, like little half movements here and there. Give her a push toy though and the girl is off, darting across the room. My prediction is she'll be a walker in a couple weeks. Finally Maevey has sprouted some teeth. Her two bottom teeth finally pushed through two weeks ago. Where is my baby going???

Super Maevey

Her super power is knocking you out with her spit bubbles.

Johnny Rockets

We went here to eat not that long ago. At one point the music kept getting louder and louder. I thought it was strange, but then we were surrounded by the waiters and waitresses and a guy dressed up in a hot dog costume. The kids didn't know what to do with themselves, pure awe.

Happy Birthday Auntie Jess

We went out in downtown Naperville to celebrate Auntie Jess's special day. The kids were beyond well behaved, which is always very much appreciated.

The birthday girl insisted on spoiling Maeve with a little gelato. She didn't care about my no sweets until first birthday rule. Maeve was happy to oblige to the rule breaking.

What a laugh

Our evening ritual is to watch TV in our room before bedtime. Iggy has really got into watching movies. I cannot for the life of me remember what we were watching here. Most likely it has to do with someone getting hurt or toilet humor. The hands over the mouth really gets me.

Are they twins?

This is something we get asked on an almost daily basis. I think it is absolutely ridiculous. We think it's because the double stroller. So I decided to cave one day at Old Navy and got them matching jams, yes I'm aware they are boy pjs but I just wanted to twinsie them for just one moment.

Children's Museum

Maevey makes glow in the dark look good.

He means business

What a determined little boy

The reality of parenthood

This video was texted to me at work. I'm not sure what Michael's intentions were. Maybe just to get sympathy. I certainly didn't envy him at that point.

Where's my Iggy Baby?

I have no idea who this 13 year old is.

Tough guy

Too bad his face is too sweet.

Better start saving now

He was quite pleased to be on the ATV. Thanks Michael for the genius idea. Wha wha whaaaaa

Rub-a-dub-dub

Happy 4th of July

Well doesn't this just scream 'Merica

3rd of July

My sister Melissa belongs to Ivanhoe Golf Club up North. They had a huge party on the 3rd of July. Luckily the weather cleared up once the festivities began. The kids had a blast. Hopefully next year we'll be able to stay for the fireworks.
He could have spent all day on this ride.

The bell in front of him had a string attached to it. I was squealing when he started ringing it. He was so proud.

Pure delight!

I don't know what to make of his unimpressed face on the pony ride. What 2 year old acts like this is an everyday affair?!?!?!

There was plenty of delicious food, so Maeve was happy.

He's a mean boss

Making them all get in a line just so he can yell at them. I tell ya...

Nine Months

At her nine month visit Maeve's stats were not to disappoint. Weighing in at a hearty 22lbs 15oz (95th%, and 15lbs 8oz up from birth weight), her height was 29inches (95th%), and the Cronin melon remains at 95th%. Her growth is screaming toddler but her sweet face is all baby. I could stare at her for hours.

Riverwalk

We spent many weekend afternoons at the Naperville Riverwalk. The kids love the park that is along there.

Iggy was too busy running around like a mad man to be captured in pictures.
