She'll always be my baby

Especially when I see her sleeping

One Year Pediatrician Appointment

Maeve's stats: 24lbs 1oz (88th percentile), 30.25inches (82nd percentile), and 48cm for her head (98th percentile, would you expect anything else from a Cronin)
Maeve was just under 2 lbs heavier and 1/4 inch shorter than Iggy at one, but the Cronin melon is the exact same.
She was a trooper during her shots, just a few tears. The past saturday we went back for her flu vaccine booster. The nurse walked in and I immediately started crying. She quickly gave Maeve her shot, and Maeve didn't even flinch, no tears, just a quick stink eye and she was over it. Made me feel like a crazy person, won't be the first time I guess.

First Birthday Party

Maeve waiting for her guests. It was maybe 15 minutes before guests were due to arrive that Michael said "I think we're in the clear, the radar looks like it's going to pass over us". Not even 5 minutes later the rain was coming down sideways. What a jinx.

It's as if she grew from baby into little girl overnight.

Maeve was such a ham! I was expecting screaming, tears, tugging at the birthday hat, but none of it. She was looking around with a big smile on her face. She was truly happy to have all her loved ones around her and celebrating her special day.

It was as if the smash cake was invented for Maeve. Not even 5 minutes in, she was covered in the cake. Even after a bath I continued to smell frosting.

Ignatius was so happy to have his buddy Beckett over. I really can't handle the cuteness that comes from these two.

Caring Ignatius

Iggy was quietly playing in Maeve's room after we opened her birthday presents. We walked in to see he had set up a picnic for Maeve and himself and quieted baby. That boy is something else.

The fastest year to date

(I apologize for the repeat ode, but I said on Facebook everything I feel for my baby girl)
It's hard to believe one year ago my wish was granted and I got my sweet Maevey baby. It truly feels like just yesterday. Every day I see more and more of my mother in Maeve, which melts my heart. Also every day I see more and more of her brother's personality coming out, which terrifies me! My mother went through a period of her life where she really wanted to be Irish, so it's very fitting that my baby girl looks like (as her Auntie Megan calls her) the map or Ireland. To say every day with Maeve is joyous is an understatement, every day is a blessing from God. As Ignatius did, Maeve helps heal my grieving heart. I am truly blessed to call her my daughter. I love you more than words can say baby girl.
The definition of adoring parents

This is one of my favorite pictures that Megan took the night Maeve made her entrance into the world. It captures the excitement surrounding her arrival.

I feel immediately in love with this face

The day we welcomed her into God's family

She really enjoyed having the show be all about her

That smile!

The girl of a million faces

She reinvents the word juicy

Happy Birthday Maeve

For her actual birthday Maeve was given a mini-cupcake. Don't fret there was no disappointment on her behalf.

Finger licking good

Hi Mom!

Ignatius and Chauncey trying to get in on the action

Sharing is caring, such a sweet birthday girl

Leftovers

Maeve was able to indulge in leftover birthday cake. Boy oh boy did she indulge! Ariel's hair caused quite an alarm at daycare the next day during diaper changes.

"What do you mean the cake's all gone?" She gives the best stink face.
