Thank you time change

For allowing me to finish posting on the blog at 6am while my children sleep. Still don't understand how when we "spring ahead" I find myself waking up earlier.

Such similarities

Iggy at 6 months

We have always said Maeve was Iggy with dark hair. I think this picture finally proves it. I am well aware they are brother and sister, but yet it still amazes me how they look so much alike.

The love fest resumes

Maeve looks scared. I just kept saying, "be aware of your weight Ignatius", as if he knows what I mean.

He wanted to sing her Itsy Bitsy Spider. I could have died. I think I literally started squealing.

Go Olivia!

While letting Momma get some rest due to the strep throat (thank God for antibiotics), Michael, Iggy, and Grampie went to the South Side to watch Olivia's last game.

Sad I missed it

Truly taking after Da

At the end he's peeking around the corner for my approval, love him!

Set, hut, hike

According to Michael, he'll be ready to start football next year. Man oh man.

A lover of odd animals

Iggy likes to take trips to the pet store to get Chauncey's food. He likes to try to touch all weird animals, birds, rodents, snakes, all things that make me go yuck!

Maeve officially found her laugh

It truly comes out around Iggy. Sorry for the lack of lighting, I didn't want the flash to scare off their antics.

Coming to getcha

Why hello there Mavis

Looking very Irish today, aren't we

My guy

He loves himself some guacamole and saying cheese for the camera.

I want to eat that face.

Happy five months Maevey

Those eyes, those delicate eyebrows, love her more than I can say.

Show me your muscles

Iggy really likes hearing that, especially since he can flex his biceps and abs.

Fun while Da works late

Busy time while Momma cooks dinner

Goofing off in the bathtub

Uh oh, we might have a thumb sucker on our hands, alarming that this was taken post cereal consumption

My little escape artist

Iggy wanted to go and play in the snow. So this is what he did to attempt to get out. Good grief.

Baby Mommy

In my dad's office I came across this picture of me as a newborn. I mean who wouldn't love baby Laura to pieces. No wonder I was my mother's favorite!

My little doll

Sorry Maeve but if we can't shape your hair into pig tails, we're going to wear giant bows on your head.

Getting so big

Maeve is trying to sit up and interact with all sorts of toys now.

Not our usual nap time

A couple weekends ago Michael came down with strep throat (which turned into, exactly two weeks from the date of his positive test, a positive for Mommy) so I was left flying solo with these crazy kiddos. Definitely different from maternity leave time, much more involved. I was trying to nurse Maeve to sleep in her room. I left Iggy in our room watching Toy Story. I thought it was pretty quiet in there and was a little concerned. He put himself to sleep. The best part was 1 1/2 hours later I look underneath the door and see his little feet and him opening the door when he woke up.

Story time with Iggy

I love how Maeve isn't that much smaller than Iggy in the picture.

Just like his Momma

He loves himself some pudding

Potty time

February 15th didn't just mark Grammie's birthday. It also marked the first time Iggy went pee pee on the potty. Unfortunately this was at school and I missed it. Since Iggy's classroom has kiddos that are over 2 years they have a potty in there, which means all the kids watch each other sit on the potty, which then means they all want to mimic. Iggy's teacher said they never force it, but they will offer it at each diaper change. I took this cue and decided to get the potty for the house. At first we started off wanting to read magazines while sitting down. Then it turned into needing to be buck naked. I have finally been able to witness a pee pee on the potty, unfortunately about 75% of the pee pee came shooting out and on to the floor. I really need to find the blocker that Chauncey ran away with.

Cousin time

We had a long overdue get together at the Scarsella's a couple weeks back. It still amazes me how lucky Iggy and Maeve are to have such amazing cousins. I still can't believe all these kiddos are six and under.

The boys snuck away for some dude time. I love Emmett dictating the turns.

I can't get enough of these two.

Have you ever seen anything like it?

I'm mainly talking about the pink jean jacket. Too cute!

What a precious face

So delicate, like a doll.

Auto Show

Michael has been wanting to get a motorcycle for years. Seeing the excitement in Ignatius's eyes did nothing for my case against them.

I mean seriously, but the answer is still no.

Twins!

Maeve was only mildly interested, she spent most of the time asleep.

Iggy was on a mission to try to destroy as many cars as possible.

Story time with Da

Next step

At the four month visit we got the go ahead to try cereal. I was hesitant at first, I wanted to keep my baby, my baby as long as possible. However I quickly realized holding off cereal wasn't going to stop her from aging, so I might as well see if we can get her to sleep through the night. No surprise that she loves it. Unfortunately no improvement on nighttime sleeping.

What a love fest

All I could hope and dream for and more.

Oopsies

One morning I had to run upstairs to change Maeve's diaper. When I came back down Iggy was spitting. He had gone into the garbage and grabbed a coffee filter and started to go to town. Note the coffee grounds all over his mouth. Yuck.

Happy Birthday Beckett

We had Beckett's 2nd birthday party last month. Maeve was excited to get to the festivities.

What a great party it was. They even had a real fire truck and ambulance come! Iggy's mind was blown.

When we got home Pop Pop had dropped off some things he came across while cleaning out his basement. Iggy was super excited to see the motorcycle.

Four month visit

February 5th marked our 4 month visit with the pediatrician. Maeve weighed in at 16lbs 12oz (95th percentile) and 25.5inches (87th percentile). The Cronin melon isn't living up to it's full potential, a mere 75th percentile. Interesting fact, Maeve weighs a whole 2 pounds more than Iggy did at 4 months. As my friend said, must be buttermilk in my breasts. Oh and I cried harder than Maeve when she got her shots.
