Strange requests from Iggy

Night stroll must have froggy rain boots and goggles.

There are no words

This is just one awesome picture. Thank you Bleskin Family for the goggles and ensuing the giggles.

ARGH! Where's ye treasure?

Yo Ho Ho!

We had to dress up while watching "Jake and the Neverland Pirates" this fine Saturday morning

Double ear infection

Two weeks ago Iggy was super congested and feeling lousy. Early in the week we had his two year old visit (28 lbs, 50th%, 36 inches 85th%, and the Cronin melon still holding in at 90th%) and the pediatrician saw fluid in his ear, but it wasn't infected...yet. He then woke up twice during the middle of the night, not like himself. I knew he was a time bomb ticking. I got the call on thursday to come and pick him up from daycare due to a fever of 103. I immediately brought him to the pediatrician, where he still had the 103 fever, that was after tylenol, and was not feeling himself. After cleaning out chucks of ear wax, she was able to see that both ears were infected. I got him home, forced some fluids on him, and laid him in our bed. He wrapped his blankie around himself and was moaning and groaning. I saw his hands, feet, and lips to turn blue (no need to worry his gums were pink, he gets the poor circulation from his momma) and saw the chills on his body. I knew the fever was spiking again. The thermometer read 105! I didn't truly panic because I know his body can tolerate high fevers, but I still googled febrile seizures and didn't let Michael put him in his crib until it was down. Slightly terrifying. Poor bubba took three full days to start feeling like himself again. The only plus side was a super snuggly little guy.

Who's the baby?

Not sure if it's Maeve or the kid with the pacifier. We got to break that habit. He goes the entire day at daycare without one. It's as if he knows I'm an enabler. Ugh.

Who could say no to this face?

I truly struggle most of the time.

I surrender!

Don't cross Ignatius while he's wearing a sombrero and wielding a sword.

Sleeping Beauty

Showing off her juicy thighs

I could put her into pill form and consume her.

Happy 2nd Birthday Ignatius Francis

Cheersing with his chocolate milk

He was very happy to have a McDonald's feast for his special day

His happiness warms my heart

Trying to blow out the candle

Still trying

Giving up on trying

Not sure if he did something wrong by blowing out the candle

Very pleased with himself

Maeve wants in on the action

So much that she yanked her brother from his seat

Ahoy Matey!

Ignatius has developed a love of all things pirate. This lucky guy got a pirate costume for his birthday. Thank you Jessica for making his dreams come true.

"Hey Guys"

This is Iggy's latest phrase to say. He likes to say it especially when he's showing off.
We were sitting outside eating dinner. Iggy was running around the backyard when we heard "hey guys," we looked over and saw the little devil. Moments later he was on the ground and the Cozy Coupe was on top of him, which was quickly followed by help.

Bike rides

Funny to think we got this bike trailer last summer when I was pregnant with Maeve. I didn't have a feeling if it was a boy or a girl growing in me, but man oh man I never imagined they would look this cute together.

Finally Friends

Chauncey has feared Maeve from day one. Any tiny hint of her getting fussy and starting to cry and he flees. His typical hiding spot is our laundry room. Thanks to throwing the ball around it the back yard, I  think they have finally put their differences aside.

He even let her put her hand in his mouth. Yuck!

Maeve is quite happy with the new bond...

...or is she?

Mr. Safety

HBD Grampie, Emmett, and Ignatius

We had a combo party for the Men of May birthdays. The weather was calling for rain all week. I was sick with worry the whole time. The rain held off and it was a beautiful day with wonderful friends and family.
Maeve and great Grandma Mary getting their snuggles in

Evie looking like quite the fashionista

Next up: Cordelia's first birthday!

Can you tell I had a difficult time lighting the candles? Ignatius's face is screaming disappointment.

I was scared of Ignatius burning his hand like last year.

I truly cannot handle Emmett's arm around Iggy. What a lover!

Warming up to peaches

It was quite the battle initially. Maybe it's because Mommy gags every time she feeds them to her, such a horrible smell.

Happy Birthday Mom

On April 30th my mom would have been 61. I still can't believe we've celebrated four birthdays without her. This time of year is always so hard, my birthday on April 10th, her birthday April 30th, and Mother's day. Constantly reminded of what I no longer have. That one woman who I need more than anyone. When you become a mother all you want is your mom. You are dying to hear, "you're doing a great job honey," "you make me proud," "your kids are magical." Instead I just keep my eyes, ears, and heart open to little glimpses that she's with me, that she's beaming up in heaven.

Excuse the picture of a picture. What a little Shirley Temple!

I see such a resemblance here.

We spent Mom's birthday at the cemetery. It was such a gorgeous day. The night before I was at Walgreens picking out a card for her. I just couldn't help but think how is this my life? How is this possible that I'm picking out a birthday card to leave at a cemetery? How am I growing up and becoming a mommy to these two amazing kids and my mom is missing this all? How is this God's plan? I just have to keep my faith going that someday I will see her again and she can answer these questions.

Maevey and Momma having a moment. I'm sure my mom was telling her how much she loves her rolls and her blue eyes.

Now I have to admit I pointed to the headstone and said give your Ana a kiss.

When we got to the car, Ignatius turned around and waved. I never told him to say goodbye. Makes you wonder.

My heart hurts every day without her.

Playing dress up

I went shopping for a few items for Maeve. I couldn't help myself, I immediately had to have her try every item on. She's my little dolly and I wouldn't have it any other way.
What a ham!

I couldn't be happier with the warm weather and the fact that missy miss can start showing off her rolls.
